Henrik brings years of reed entrepreneurship to Ruokomestarit. As a co-founder, he combines practical knowledge of the material with construction expertise and 25 years in teaching.

From harvesting on the water to developing products on land, we take care of the whole journey. Our ambition is simple: make reed a natural part of everyday life.

A familiar plant. A practical purpose.
Ruokomestarit began with an idea: make better use of Finnish reed. Our work connects harvesting and processing with products for playgrounds, recreational surfaces, gardens, animal bedding and cottage life.
The useful question is what the material can do in everyday life. Each application has its own requirements, so we develop the product range around specific uses rather than treating every reed material as interchangeable.
Two businesses. A shared direction.
Ruokomestarit – Premium Finnish Reed Oy grew from Pikkalan Kaislanleikkuu and Jensen Invest joining forces. Their shared goal was to build an economically sustainable reed business that also serves nature and society throughout the year.
Harvesting alone is not enough to build a working market. That is why we connect harvesting, processing, logistics and our own product development. We also collaborate with partners in Denmark, Estonia, the Netherlands and Sweden.

Sauli Tikka
Sauli brings years of reed entrepreneurship and experience running his own business. As a co-founder and mechanic, he contributes practical knowledge of machinery and reed work.

Richard helps build Ruokomestarit as a co-founder, with a role spanning the wider business. Alongside his company work, his background includes experience in professional football.

Fredrik Jensen
Fredrik helps build Ruokomestarit as a co-founder. He brings together professional football experience and a vocational qualification in business and administration from Practicum.

Erik Joosten
Erik supports Ruokomestarit as a co-owner, mentor and strategist. A former CEO and owner of Arion Group, he brings extensive experience in entrepreneurship and business leadership.
Reed is finding new places.
Reed infill in Kemiönsaari
We announced our first ball-game artificial field using RM ReedFill in Kemiönsaari. Local reed and local collaboration brought the material into use.
LOOP Forum 2026
We joined the Helsinki stand at LOOP Forum and presented our work, connecting reed products with the wider conversation about the circular economy.
A trial in Aarhus
Aarhus shared its trial of RuokoTurva at the Eskelunden outdoor fitness area, using Finnish reed to gain experience of its use and durability.
Developing the machinery, too
GuloTrack grew from the need to improve reed harvesting in challenging conditions. Over two years of development, a modernised harvesting machine progressed from drawings to its first test drives.
